Coast to Coast

Feeling exhausted again, yesterday was all about building my energy level back up.  We woke up in Las Vegas and made the 4 1/2 hour drive to Huntington Beach, CA.  Unfortunately, Shannon and I didn’t get to spend as much time in Vegas as we had hoped, but at least Mom was able to take advantage of the full week.   We had a great time at the Club De Soleil while there and we’ll be back soon enough…thank you again Dan and Karen.  This was another late morning, followed by a lot of sleep in the car.  I’m chocking this fatigue up to a few late nights and a short transition between Eastern and Pacific time zones.  Now I’m rested and ready to experience California. After over two months on the road, yesterday we finally hit the west coast, a huge milestone.  We transferred from one great timeshare to another.  My sister-in-law Elisa was awarded a timeshare in Huntington Beach, and Aaron and family used it as an opportunity to catch up and spend some time on the road with us.  Last time I saw Aaron was in New Orleans, so I was anxious to get back out on the bikes with him.  Maybe not the best time of day, but we took a pitch dark ride down the Coastal Highway.  This is what energizes me!!  We missed the scenic views, but had a great time riding and talking over the headsets.  Can’t wait to do it again in the daylight! In anticipation of riding along the coast, I was geared up in my new pirate themed Harley Davidson T-shirt, an awesome gift from Joe, Jessica, and the McKay Family…thanks!  Kieth and all of my other new pirate friends, it’s time we take the west coast…arg!

If you get up toward LA, there is a great little place called “Home” http://www.homelosfeliz.com/

They have 2 locations but the one in LosFeliz is awesome!

Love reading your adventures and praying for you daily!

  2. Cousin Mike says:

Did you shave your beard? Ah man…
Pirate themed Harley T-shirts deserve beards!
Seriously, what pirates are clean shaven?
    I mean come on.
    Geez…

  3. Cousin Michelle, Mario, and Simona says:

ok two things come to mind right now….. Katie Perry California Dreams, and the Beach Boys (and not sure in which order).

HAVE FUN Cali style and maybe catch some waves on the coast!

  4. Aunt Bo says:

Enjoy the laid back life of California and the ocean. Love that Pacific ocean. There is something about being around water, especially the ocean. It just relaxes the mind and body. Enjoy the ride!

  5. Uncle Lee and Aunt Sharon says:

No more California Dreamin’ – you are there!!!!!!!!! Blue, sunny skies, the smell of ocean surf, sand in your feet, Beach Boy tunes playing in your mind as you ride along the coast – ENJOY and be energized by it all! 🙂
I just read a great magazine article on “America’s Best Road Trips” and it recommended California’s Route 1 from San Francisco to Santa Barbara because you can eat well all the way down the coast ( thought you guys would like that 🙂 ) – and every meal comes with a view! Just wanted to share. California is loaded with so many great possibilities – hope you have some celebrity sightings too!
Have fun with Aarie, Elisa and the girls. (Kayla, your very belated birthday present should finally be waiting for you when you get back home!) Much love and hugs to you all!

  7. HP says:

Lovin the synergy here… On the East Coast two months ago you were part of a gospel quartet. Now, motorcycle-riding pirates. The Hells Angels have *nothing* on you! 🙂
